Winter storm
This was taken last Sunday in Milford on Sea. Not `mooching` weather, I can tell you! In fact, there was so much spray about, I really only risked a couple of shots. Also, the waves were pretty substantial, the wind was gale force, and I was not going to take the risk of having one catch me unawares. (:o)

What a powerful looking sea - I don't blame you for not hanging around. A great capture.
Ingrid
Fantastic capture Rosalyn, great action shot.
Wow Rosalyn!Seems like the great floods are in front of us! Nicely captured..
This is how the sea has to be, force full, you captured that very good and Roz: 'camera's first' when something is happening
I need the sea
to wash over me to empty out this place Seems the only way to salvage myself
Kathryn's poem made me realize that we're damned it we do and damned if we don't! That eternal draw to the sea. It must be deep in our genes somewhere, Roz. If it weren't for our cameras....
nicely done ros,are you going back to this beach when the weather is better?
Rosalyn Sears: Oh yes! But I do like it devoid of people, too. (:o)
Lovely shot, Ros. Some pretty wild water here!
Ros'. In some way or another you always seem to make a ''big splash''. Wise words about respecting the sea. Looks great in black and white ... but thinking about it you probably didn't have much choice. ;-) richard
Great dramatic shot Ros. The sea is boiling a likey for me
Very nice shot. It shows us the strength of the wave. Great lighting and contrast
and who can blame you, looks great in mono
excellent capture of stop-motion....very nice...
Kathryn's poem well suits this great mono picture... wet, wet, wet !
Does exactly what it says in the title - truly a winter storm. Fabulous photograph Roz - I can hear the Ocean's roar.
Before I read your text my first thought was how treacherous this looked and I hoped you had a good foothold.
Powerful! Love it.
Great shot Ros, shows the power of the sea really well.
Oh I love this...Love the moody murky colour and the power of the sea. Well done. i can understand why you wanted to be careful. Looks dangerous.Love it!
you certainly caught the moment there Rosalyn!
nice capture. I like the black and white
Its been that sort of weather Rosalyn, well captured
Nice strom shot. Congratulations.
Great nature shot. Don't you just love the sea? Never a dull moment with those waves
I think you are very brave for being out there in the first place. This is one of the best "frozen-water" shots I have seen.
Well captured Roz - and I like it in mono too.
Impressive and heavy atmosphere - The choice of B&W is really a good idea !
Wow, that's a powerful sea and a powerful B&W.
I am fasinated by the ocean and waves, but generally I love the blues and greens so much I can't stand the thought of a B&W conversion. However this photo certainly has changed my mind. This is amazing! The details of the splash if fantastic! Thank you for sharing this one!
Hi Roz, just been trawling thru your archive. Your images of the birds of prey are great but this shot and your other seascape really caught my eye - the b/w treatment is perfect for the two images. Mike
