Spring Storms - 2
Taken about half an hour later than yesterdays, and the sun was breaking through. Even with the tide receding, the waves were still managing to reach halfway across the car park. Unbelieveably, literally seconds after this wave was spent, a couple walked along in front of those seats. Would you believe, with a tiny baby in a carrier! Sheer stupidity.

and what are you doing there? just asking
Rosalyn Sears: The sea was actually in retreat at this point. Had I been there at high tide, it would not have been safe to be in the car park. There is something very symbolic about empty benches. (:o)
Nice, simple shot. The height of the spray is striking.
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, Jewlya. (:o)
Good Grief. Did they actually have the guts to sit down?
This is a beautiful shot and I agree with M'roy about the sadness!
Rosalyn Sears: No, they did not sit down, they kept walking along the edge. I was just so angry that they would be so reckless with a tiny baby with them. Glad you like the shot. (:o)
Stupidity is the word to use Roz.
Very nice capture. The benches seem to be spectators here!
Rosalyn Sears: The benches do look like spectators, don`t they? (:o)
I'm surprised to see no-one sat on the benches
Rosalyn Sears: You`ll have been reading in the news, just how stupid and reckless some people are. No respect for the might of the sea. I have to say, I was photographing from a safe distance. I liked the `blue` of the bin, which is why I included it in the frame. (:o)
I like the composition here with the two benches offset by the bin. There is certainly something rather sad about an empty bench - a potent symbol for a missing human presence.
Ingrid
Rosalyn Sears: Very significant for me, Ingrid, as this is where I usually sit (on a calm day) to enjoy a beautiful view of the Needles. The Needles is a group of rocks off the end of the Isle of Wight, and is were we scattered my Dad`s ashes. I have to say, though, it is a place of contemplation rather than sadness for me, and I feel connected to Dad, rather than bereft. (:o)

I like the emptiness and doesn't Ingrid realise that no one in their right minds would be sitting on those benches with the sea still being angry. Only excentric photographers would be daft enough to be standing around that close
Rosalyn Sears: Don`t worry, I was at a safe distance. Had I been there at the height of the storm, at high tide, I would have seen beach huts being hurled over a ten foot wall and onto the coastal footpath. (:o)
There were two old men sat in deckchairs and one said to the other. "it's nice out today" and the other said "put it away quick, there's a copper coming"
Sorry Roz but that just came into my head!!
Rosalyn Sears: lol! The old ones are the best. (:o)
love the composition Rozalyn
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, tim. (:o)
Love the random positioning of the planks; love the glimpses of the roiling sea out the back.
Rosalyn Sears: Yes, Ray, the sea was dramatic as far as the eye could see. (:o)
Great composition Rosalyn and the timing of the wave is just right. Love the blue paint on the bin and swats.
Rosalyn Sears: In a way is is a shame that the wind was so strong, because the wave lost definition and was simply blasted into spray within seconds. But, it was just how it was. Glad you like it. (:o)
Love the blue in it, I know this was fun for you like my storm at my beach!!!
Rosalyn Sears: That was a stunning photograph you posted, Astrid. I am not sure if I commented, I know I tried, but it was one of the days when Shutterchance was causing me hassle. (:o)
Time for some rain gear. I'd love to be out in it but maybe not with a baby.
Great shot.
A belated look at your storm shots Roz. They are really good - I especially like this one with the blue waste bin on the left. Mike
