Red Rose
Can`t explain exactly why, but I really like this one in black and white. (:o) Hope to get round to some replies this weekend. (:o) ps. My husband said I should title this one Thin Lizzy - anyone know why? (:o)

Interesting idea to present a rose in b/w. I rather like it!
I do love this one too.
Thin Lizzy was an Irish rock band - one of their albums was called Black Rose.
There's a bunch of Irish pubs in America called Black Rose (Roisin Dubh in Irish). Goodly pic!
Can not see the red, but the rose is beautiful. Is it a MIster Lincon?
The texture of the rose petals really gets emphasized by removing the color. I like it a lot.
cool macro. It seems more like a black rose (which is my favorite)..Love the details here..
That is a seriously good image, Rosalyn
In B&W we can see so well the texture !!! Great job !!!
It is very unusual to see it in b/w - it makes it look as though it is made of fabric. I rather like it too.

What an great idea. The rose somehow doesn't really look real to me.
Very lovely shot ..top marks for the conversion..
Beautiful texture highlighted with out the colour. Well done Rosalyn
The black and white has a velvety look, but it could have been so on the coloured version as well.
I think the conversion worked well and it makes a great picture. Thin Lizzy is an Irish hard rock band that released and album: "Black Rose: A Rock Legend" in 1979. Your husband is old
3D to me, this is a stunning picture, on my screen I can touch it, Roz this is a likey to me, a joy for the eye, NOW it proofs that we don't need colors all the time. (LOL at Louis
I also thought this shot had a velevt feel to it Roz. You have done your rose justice this is heavenly
Nice one, but I miss the deep red of a rose.
Unusual treatment of a rose Rosalyn but I think it works.
This is wonderful Rosalyn. Looks like a 3D image. Well done
Love the texture and tone.
Roz, The B&W seems to give it some textures that might be lost in a sea of red.
They did an album called Black Rose, not one of my favourite bands. Anyway I like this. It looks like a deep grey velvet.
I prefer to think of this as the black rose - super lighting ;o)
oh my what a beauty
Unusual presentation Rosalyn, I never would have thought a flower of any sort would come out so well in mono.
Whoever would have thought it would look so good in B&W, Roz. The detail is unbelievably sharp and crisp!
Wonderful picture : A likey for me !
