Feisty Black Headed Gulls
Black-headed Gull (Larus ridibundus) I learned something today, when I `googled` for information on these birds - they only have black heads in the breeding season! No doubt that would explain why emotions were running high. (see link below) (:o) http://www.arthurgrosset.com/europebirds/black-headedgull.html

A friendly debate, no doubt. Excellent shot.
Rosalyn Sears: Thanks, Martin. I liked this one, even though there were lots of rejects to go with it. (:o)
What red lips you have, Darling. Great shot, Rosalyn!
Rosalyn Sears: The colour is gorgeous, isn`t it? Glad you like it. (:o) Hope you are still progressing well.
I usually don't like coloured borders...here I do
Rosalyn Sears: Aksel, I don`t usually have time to fiddle with borders, but I thought the `red` might work well on this one. Glad you agree. (:o)
Wow great action shot well captured
Rosalyn Sears: Thanks, vintage. (:o)
This is fabulous, Roz. I love it!
Rosalyn Sears: I liked this one, too, Ginnie, though there were lots consigned to the trash bin. lol! (:o)
Sharp and well composed.
Very beautiful!
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, Remi. I am glad you like it. (:o)
Excellent action shot Roz
Rosalyn Sears: Cheers, Aussie. I just kept clicking away in the hope that one of the shots would be okay. I was happy with this one. (:o)
I am not fond of gulls in general but this is a superb picture Roz
Rosalyn Sears: They aren`t my favourite birds, Bill, especially not the big ones. These black headed gulls do have comical expressions, though - when they are not fighting. Glad you like the photograph.(:o)
Lovely crisp shot Roz,i can seeyou going on safari soon.
Rosalyn Sears: I wish! Trouble is, mick, I would be so disappointed if I didn`t come back with shots as good as Ferdi`s - they are just amazing. Have you been following his blogg? http://ferdi.shutterchance.com/photoblog/146423.htm (:o)
Brilliant image, Roz. I especially like the movement of the wings of the one that is airborne.
Rosalyn Sears: Thanks, Ray. I was happy with this one. (:o)
great timing with the wings and the mouth
Rosalyn Sears: `Great timing` eventually! There were lot of photographs which went straight to the trash bin. lol! (:o)
Great timing Ros.
Rosalyn Sears: Glad you like it, Chris. I took a lot of `rejects` before I got this one. loL! (:o) I`m sitting here (sunday 8.00 am, watching snow falling - has it reached the Island? I`m so disappointed that it is not lying - I had my camera primed and ready for some `winter` shots.) (:o(
Give us a kiss love
Lovely shot Roz. This is a winner for me
Rosalyn Sears: lol! Thank you, Tracy - I`m glad you like it. (:o)
Great capture Roz. What a timing!
Rosalyn Sears: Thanks, Richard. Lots of rejects before I got this one. (:o)
Great one !!! Nice details and attitudes ...
Rosalyn Sears: Thanks, Ann - glad you like it. (:o)
what an exciting shot. Beautiful capture. :o)
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, john. I was pleased with this one, even though it took a lot of attempts to catch the right moment. (:o)
Nicely caught Rosalyn, and I like the red border matching the red beaks of the birds.
Rosalyn Sears: Thanks, brian. I thought a thin red border might emphasise the beaks and feet. (:o)
Superb energetic shot!
Great colors and composition!
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you! I am so pleased you like it. (:o)
Good action shot - I find it fun and difficult to take good pic of birds - I would be very happy if this was my pic
Rosalyn Sears: I am happy with this one, Aksel - but a lot of my attempts were sent straight to the trash bin! Glad you like it. (:o)
Action well captured.
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you! (:o)
Wow. These are beautiful. I've never seen gulls like this before. We only have grey gulls here. Great shot.
I think this may be one of my favorites ever of yours Roz. Absolute impeccable timing. It's one of those commonly occurring moments in nature that we always seem to miss.
