Blue door

Don`t know why, but I was just rather taken by this.  I liked the texture, and the brilliant blue still clinging on despite the obvious deterioration. (:o)

Such an interesting image to look at, Rosalyn. You have managed to get a 3D feel to the deteriorating surface.
Rosalyn Sears: Thanks for taking the time to have a look at this one. I was pleased to come across it, and glad that the photograph worked nicely. (:o)
I completely understand your being taken by it. It is very compelling.
Rosalyn Sears: Hi Karen! I will try to remember to put up another couple of photographs of this building. It is actually a row of two storey, bathing huts on the sea front near me. They look as though they were built maybe in the 1930`s (before most folk took holidays abroad). Sad to see them falling into such a state.

Very nice textures. reminds me my house needs painting as well.
Rosalyn Sears: Lol! Fortunately this is not part of our house....that would be `shabby chic` taken to the extreme. lol! (:o)

beautiful colors and texture. i can almost feel it!
Rosalyn Sears: Polly, thank you for taking the time to look. I am very pleased you like it. (:o)
Good one. Like nev, this reminds me that I have to call the contractor soon. Paint doesn't stop the decay beneath, does it?
Rosalyn Sears: Yep! I think it will take more than a coat of paint to fix this fact, I think that these beach huts are going to be demolished. That`s sad - another piece of our heritage bulldozed for the `bijou` flats market. (:o|
Great shot - love the pattern and texture.
Rosalyn Sears: Thanks - I appreciate your comments. (:o)

Wonderful color, textures. Nicely done!
Rosalyn Sears: Thanks, Kay. (:o)
You have captured the scene really well here.
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, Chris. I felt that the closer crop was the way to go on this one. (:o)
Well done !!!
Rosalyn Sears: Cheers, shakara! Thank you for taking the time to look. (:o)
Love the texture in this picture really takes the eye. smile
Rosalyn Sears: I am so pleased you like it, Tracy. (:o)

Now that you have taken the picture - an excellent one mind you - you have to start stripping for the upcoming paint job.

Excellent spot and framing. Love these natural contrasts.
Rosalyn Sears: lol! Thankfully, it is not my door to paint! In any case, I`m alraedy bored with decorating after only one week. (:o)
Excellent abstract with a nice contrast between the rectangular fitting and the organically cracked paint.
Rosalyn Sears: I`m getting some really nice feedback on this photograph. It has quite brightened up my day. (:o)
lovely textures and colours....
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, PhotoSam. (:o)

Very good color combination……
Rosalyn Sears: So pleased you think that. Thank you for taking the time to look. (:o)
Simple, but so perfectly done. Very pleasant and lovely shot !
Rosalyn Sears: You know, Roland, I`m not sure I would have picked up on this, if I hadn`t joined Shutterchance. It seems to have opened up a world of photographic opportunities (or maybe just made me open my eyes) lol! (:o)
I can see why you were attracted to this. Excellent close up. Despite sounding like a broken record, I must note the wonderful texture and color.
Rosalyn Sears: Cheers, Red Pen. It`s nice to know that this photograph has appealed to quite a few Shutterchancers. (:o)

Absolutely stunning, Roz! It's sounding like a broken record. grin
Rosalyn Sears: Hi Ginnie. Don`t worry...I won`t let it go to my head. lol! As I`ve already said, Shutterchance has made me look at things quite differently, and I am so pleased I stumbled across it. (:o)
This is tremendous. So much to enjoy.
Rosalyn Sears: Cheers, Chad. I`ll let you in to a little secret. I have never entered a competion in my life, but my husband persuaded me to have a shot at the one which the BBC runs. I think it is called photographer of the year (lol! I was a long shot!) However, the first theme was `blue`, and this was my entry, with four more categories to come.

Blow me, but the bbc have withdrawn every single competition they are running, in the wake of all the recent unfair practices hoohah! Typical! (:o)

This is a wonderful shot - great paint! I once had the idea of doing the peeling paint on small old fishing boats with a macro lens - trouble was I couldn't find many boats left!

That blue - almost azure!

Rosalyn Sears: Thanks, Mike. (:o) Strangely, I have such a photograph - an upturned wooden rowing boat! The blue was very intense on this old door - it is what drew my attention to it.
I agree with all previous comments - the colour is amazing, almost unreal. A good example of beauty in decay!
Rosalyn Sears: Thanks. I`m pleased we decided to get out and blow away the cobwebs on that day. (:o)
Very nice and artistic shot ! Bravo !
Rosalyn Sears: You are very kind, thank you. (:o)
Absolutely loving this image. Composition, techs, etc. all spot on.

Very creative eye, looking forward to exploring the rest of your work.
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you will see a steady(ish) improvement. (:o)
Me gusta cómo has recortado esta foto!

I like how you have trimmed this photo!
Rosalyn Sears: Gracias! (:o) la puerta es cansada pero hermosa.
Stunning colours !
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, Ferdi. This one does see to have been well received on here - I did love the colour. (:o)
