Incoming!
This is one of the photographs I was talking about in yesterdays post. I do like the fact that it shows how still the head remains, even in flight, but I was trying to freeze the action. (:o)

Look at that movement. He looks very intense. Great catch.
Rosalyn Sears: Glad you like it, Mroy. He certainly was `focused`! (:o)
It is a startling, beautiful shot, Rosalyn.
I think the powerful beat of the wings really makes this shot unique.
Rosalyn Sears: It certainly suprised me, Ray. lol! I had no idea the shot would look like this. Glad you like it. (:o)
I think it's great! I like yesterday's too.
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, Mary. He`s some bird, isn`t he? (:o)
This for me is perfect, as you know I like a bit of blur, but the gaze as well is brilliant. Likeyed
Rosalyn Sears: Now if I could just work out how to replicate the settings so that I can produce these at will, I`ll be laughing. I`m delighted you like it so much. (:o)
Wow! Great capture. The motion of the owl is beautifully captured.
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, Mark. I am delighted you like this one. (:o)
Poetry in motion Ros.
Rosalyn Sears: Great description, Michael. (:o)
Really fantastic, Rosalyn. I really admire the way you have captured this bird.
Rosalyn Sears: I can say in all honesty that this capture was not mine, it was the camera`s. When I can plan to capture shots like this, and exercise some real control over my camera, I will feel like I am making progress. That having been said, I was thrilled to see this photograph, and am happy you like it too. (:o)
Duck!
Rosalyn Sears: No - owl! (:o) lol!
Excellent shot i can see how they hunt so well.the eye have it
Rosalyn Sears: Glad you like it, vintage. (:o)
Just look at the expression on the owls face, don't mess with me.
Wonderful capture Roz
Rosalyn Sears: Certainly looks `purposeful`. lol! (:o)
I LOVE that you did not freeze the wings, Roz! It's just amazing to me that the body is still!!
Rosalyn Sears: And I would love to say that I deliberately did not freeze the wings, but that would not be true. I had no idea how this was going to look. When I can exercise enough control over my camera to `engineer` shots like this, then I will feel I have taken a big step forwards. lol! (:o)
WOW! Look at these eyes! Super shit!
Rosalyn Sears: Glad you like it, Julischka. (:o)
lovely...really looks like it's coming at me.
Rosalyn Sears: It was aiming for a perch, about four feet to my right. I`m pleased it didn`t make a mistake! (:o)
very cool... excellent dynamism...
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, PhotoSam. It came as quite a suprise to me, when I saw how it looked. (:o)
Oh my word!
Awesome is not a word I often use, and when I do use it, it has to be something which grabs me by the throat and pins me against the wall..... AWESOME, Rosalyn
Rosalyn Sears: lol! Floog, I am thrilled that you like this so much. (:o)
probably the most unique and interesting owl shot i've ever seen
look at those cool calculating eyes...incoming indeed!
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you so much for that very kind comment. (:o)
stunning capture Rosalyn and for me straight into my likeys
Rosalyn Sears: Oh thanks, tim, I am delighted you like this so much. (:o)
Heavens Ros - what a powerful action shot!
Rosalyn Sears: lol! You sound just as suprised as me. I had no idea it would look like this. I`m glad it does, but I would love to understand enough to be able to engineer a shot like this. (:o)
I like it as it is Ros.
Rosalyn Sears: Thanks, Bill, so do I, but I didn`t have any control over the shot, and I have not worked out how to replicate it. Next time I go to the centre, I think I will just sit there and take a load of photographs on different settings, and try to find out what does what. (:o)
Wow, this ticks all the boxes for me. Stunning!
Rosalyn Sears: Hi Pat. I`m happy you like it. (:o)
I guess in "hunting mode" that his head and thus his eyes are firmly fixed on his pray! I love the movement you've captured here.
Rosalyn Sears: Thanks, Alan. It was pure luck. You really must visit this centre. It is great value and I`d love to see what sort of shot you get. (:o)
Terrific capture Ros. If I were a field mouse I'd be terrified. I'm quite unnerved as it is! The sharp eyes and blurred wings are a great combination.
Rosalyn Sears: So glad you like it, Ian. Wish I could say that this was the shot I was going for but, in all honesty, I had no idea how it would turn out. (:o)
OMG was it flying to you ?
Great catch !
Rosalyn Sears: Glad you like the photograph, Jendayee. The perch was just a little to my right, and the tempting treat on top of it, meant that it was unlikely to land on my head by mistake. lol! (:o)
The contrast between the stillness of the head, those staring eyes and the frenzied movement of the wings is absolutely striking. A memorable photograph Roz.
Ingrid
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, Ingrid. I wish I could say that I `planned` it that way - lol! I had no idea that it would turn out like this. (:o)
WOW! Amazing shot!!!!
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, SuRi - you are very kind. I wish I could say I planned it to turn out this way. (:o)
Stunning,Stunning,Stunning,brilliant feeling of movement,well done
Rosalyn Sears: So pleased you like this, jimmy. Thank you for the comment. (:o)
