And then there was one

This is last one of the `starling` series.  What a pretty bird! (:o)

I don`t know why these seemed to work so well.  It was very bright, but not sunny, so I guess that gave a fairly even light with not such pronounced shadows.  The birds are very used to humans, and did not seem to be bothered by me in the least.  Also, it was windy and cold, and their feathers were fluffed up a bit.  I think that may have just put them at the right angle to show off the iridescence.

Whatever the reason, I enjoyed photographing them. (:o)

The background is wonderful for this bird - nice capture!
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, Jewlya. I do think the fishing pots work well with these birds. How good of them to land there! (:o)

It has been a lovely and educational series, Roz. I never knew there was a bird like this! It's unbelievably gorgeous.
Rosalyn Sears: Not as common as it used to be, but there are certainly plenty of them around here. I`m so glad you have enjoyed the photographs. (:o)

Cool shot and just not because its a close up and has s great textural integrity but due to priceless expression given by the bird...
Rosalyn Sears: I think he was wondering `who is the mad woman with the camera?` lol! Glad you like the photograph. (:o)
This is best of the trio... The blue netting works brilliant as a background. It's the viewer and the starling ... and as we know one to one's can be pretty good.
smile richard.
Rosalyn Sears: So pleased you like it, Richard. I was very happy with this one. (:o)

Rosalyn this bird is giving you an eye and he is showing off for you, you lucky one, this is so gourgeous!!!
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, Astrid. He did pose quite beautifully. (:o)
Brilliant colours on this one Roz. The way the purples and greeny blues match the background is perfect.
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, Ingrid. The fishing pots were a real bonus. Glad you enjoyed this one. (:o)
I'd kind of guessed at this ONE. Starlings aren't popular birds because of their nest stealing habits but they are truly beautiful and you've shown us that in your wonderful series.
Rosalyn Sears: I didn`t know that, Mary. I learn something from you almost every day. They are handsome little birds, though, and I am pleased you have enjoyed the series. (:o)
The last one but not the least Rosalyn. This one is number one for me
Rosalyn Sears: Glad you like it, Richard. Thank you for sticking with the series. (:o)
This one is a likey for my collector !!
Rosalyn Sears: Well that makes me very happy! (:o)
Very nice colours and pin sharp...the background colours blend in with the birds colours, cool. I would be very happy with this pic smile
Rosalyn Sears: I must admit to being very happy to have caught this one. He posed so beautifully, and the fishing pots were such a perfect background. So glad you liked it too. (:o)

Love this one... great DOF and what beautiful colouring.Where was this taken?
Rosalyn Sears: Hi Gale! Taken at Mudeford Quay on the south coast of England. Glad you like it. (:o)
This is a great shot Ros. We have had some starlings in the garden today, fighting over the fatballs. They are the most entertaining of birds. I've got to likey this because I just love it.
Rosalyn Sears: Glad you enjoyed this one, Bill. (:o)

I love the way the background colors highlight the colors within the feathers.
Rosalyn Sears: I was very lucky that they had collected on these fishing pots. The colours are very complimentary. (:o)
