Frosted leaves

Had to interupt my muttering on about mono, to post this photograph, hot of the press, so to speak.

Woke up this morning to the first frost of the year.  Snapped this one whilst still in my slippers and dressing gown, because I didn`t want the sun to reach these leaves while I was getting dressed.  You will notice that I am back in my comfort zone with this one - up close and personal.

Teeniest bit of shadow added in Picasa, but other than that, this is straight off the camera.  Hope you like it as much as I do. (:o)

Looks cold. I like how it emphasizes the structure of the leaves.
Rosalyn Sears: It was chilly! I like the emphasis too - it`s sort of skeletal. (:o)
Realmente, Rosalyn has hecho una foto muy buena. La has hecho ademĂĄs, en el momento justo, cuando todavĂa los cristales de hielo estan esperando a que el sol actĂșe! Brillante, Te felicito. Un likey para mi!

Really, Rosalyn you have made a photo very good. You have done it in addition, at the right moment, when still the ice crystals estan hoping to that the sun acts! Brilliant, I congratulate to You. A likey for my!
Rosalyn Sears: So pleased you like this one, Jose. Thank you for your generous praise. (:o)

Oh my, I got myself a competitor in frozen leaves. smile I wish I was there to take a picture of a lady, still ih her nightgown, slippers and with a camera, all shivering, but taking pictures. I'd call it "A Dedicated Lady".
Wonderful shot, Roz. Wish you spent a bit more time on it and got rid of the green grass (just replaced the color).
Z
Rosalyn Sears: Oh it was you! I tried so hard to remember whose photographs I had seen and liked so much. You can take credit for this one too, because having just seen yours, I was inspired to try for myself. As for the `Dedicated Lady`....oh, I can tell you, it was not a pretty sight. lol! (:o)
No, no. Don't get rid of the grass. (Sorry, VZ.) I think it adds a good contrast to the frosty leaves. It's wonderful how the frost clings to the veins and edges.
Rosalyn Sears: To be honest, I don`t have the skills to do that anyway. lol! I`m glad you like this one, it is one which I felt pleased to have taken. (:o)
It was obviously the day for photographing frosted leaves - I've just posted a similar shot but I was fully dressed when I took mine ;-) - you're obviously more dedicated than me. Great shot.
Rosalyn Sears: Indeed! Have you seen Max Black`s beautiful photograph? Damn - he`s good! lol! (:o)

When winter meets autumn! A great find, Roz. This tells me you are a morning person because I don't think you would have noticed otherwise! smile
Rosalyn Sears: Very much a morning person, Ginnie. `Winter meets Autumn` would have been a much better title. (:o)

Great post work Rosalyn. It is that time of year again, can you believe it!?
Rosalyn Sears: Yep, it has suddenly snuck up on us. Glad you like the photograph. (:o)
Do think about marketing...

Rich and delightful.
Rosalyn Sears: Crikey, marketing? I wouldn`t have a clue where to start! That`s not to say I`d be averse to the idea, just somewhat overwhelmed by it. lol!

Glad you like this one - I do, too. (:o)

Terrific frosted shot. I don't get frosts at my place, but I have been known to be out in my PJ's chasing butterflies.
Rosalyn Sears: Oh that would be something to see! lol! Glad you like the photograph. (:o)
How strange - I've just this minute come back inside after taking a similar picture. Yours however, is much better than mine - great minds think alike. The frost really brings out the texture. Don't agree with the comment about the grass - why bother getting rid of it? It's fine as it is.
Ingrid
Rosalyn Sears: Oh I`m sure it is not better! I`d like to see it. And thank you for being so kind about this one. (:o)
Wowee Rosalyn: that's better than my own pathetic leaf shots!
Rosalyn Sears: I think your leaf shots are beautiful, Chris! I glad you like this one, though. (:o)
Ha, dedicated my frosty leaves to you today missus!!!
Rosalyn Sears: I`m flattered and delighted! It is beautiful. As I said, you give great lessons in looking at the bigger picture. Thank you. (:o)
Very nice shot ! I love to play with ice and trees too ! It's one of the advantages of winter smile
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you. I am now looking forward to the winter and some more heavy frosts. (:o)

Roz, I have to laugh at the thought of you ourside in your nightie and slippers taking this picture. Good thing you did not get locked out! I love those little snips of green grass as they are quite symbolic against your frozen leaves. Fantastic!
Rosalyn Sears: Not a pretty sight, I can tell you! Glad you like the photograph. (:o)

a piece of art,one for the wall.
Rosalyn Sears: Oh I would really like to see this one up on a wall! Maybe I will treat myself to a decent enlargement. So glad you like it. (:o)
Lovely!
Rosalyn Sears: Well thank you! I am very happy that you enjoy this one. (:o)
Very nice shot Rosalyn. The lighting and the colours contrast are great
Rosalyn Sears: Thanks, Richard. Sometimes it just works out the way you want it to - makes up for all the times it doesn`t! LOL! (:O)
I think this is great.
Rosalyn Sears: Aw, thanks, Bill. I are really pleased you think so. (:o)

This is really nice for a advanced point and shoot. This goes to prove that its not the equipment but the artist looking through the viewfinder! Great job!!!
Rosalyn Sears: Raffi - what a kind comment! I have to say, I love my little camera, it is very forgiving. (:o)
This is lovely.
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, Ian. I am happy that you like it. (:o)
Gosh Rosalyn I couldn't even face going out this morning fully dressed...

Lovely capture.
Rosalyn Sears: Sometimes my child-like behaviour belies my age.......my creaking joints soon remind me, though! lol! Glad you like this one. (:o)
I like this - and the fact that you and your camera were in the freezing cold garden taking photos. My husband thought I was the only one who did crazy things like that. Nice to know I'm not the only one.
Rosalyn Sears: Likewise! My husband thinks I`m on the slippery slope to senile dementia. Glad you like this one. (:o)

Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, Astrid. I am so pleased you like it. It has given me a reason to look forward to more cold weather. (:o)
You must be prepared to go out earlier in the morning than I am ;o)

Lovely shot as the season begins to change. The weather was wonderful yesterday, just wish I had time to take some pohotographs.
Rosalyn Sears: I must admit, I am a morning person. (:o) Fabulous weather yesterday - very energizing. Glad you like the shot. (:o)

It looks a bit cold to be hot off the camera smile Excellent shot and worth going for it in slippers.
Rosalyn Sears: Just one of those sacrifices you just have to make for the sake of your art....lol! Just an excuse to behave like a child and crunch around in those crispy leaves. (:o)
