By way of contrast

From giant trees, and spectacular autum colour, to another aspect of our wonderful forest.

I also braved the dark and dank places where there is a whole `other-world`.  A land of small delights of all shapes and hues, where each rotting tree stump houses a complete landscape in miniature.

So as a contrast to my previous photographs, in all respect, I present my favorite find of the day.  Don`t ask me to name this fungi - I have not got a clue, but I loved it. (:o)

I love it. I forgot my camera on my hike today and found a couple of great mushroom patches. Boo hoo. But I got to see yours. Great!!
Rosalyn Sears: Thanks, Mary. I was happy with this one. (:o)
This is lovely. Nice use of light/shadows.
Rosalyn Sears: To be honest Jewlya, I did not have much choice about the light. It was just fortunate that it worked out nicely on this one. Pleased you like it. (:o)

I opened this and said, "OH, WOW!"

This goes to my Likeys, Roz. I LOVE it! It's where the faeries play!!!
Rosalyn Sears: I really like this one, too. It was one that worked well... lots were too dark. I so pleased you like it. (:o)
We don't seem to get enough shots of fungi. As your superb shot shows the shapes, texture and colours of these just beg to be photographed.
Rosalyn Sears: There certainly are so many varieties. I don`t know anything about fungi, so I can`t name them, but I do find them utterly fascinating. (:o)
A great one ! The title is really accurate : Bravissimo !!
Rosalyn Sears: Aw thank you so much. I am so thrilled you like this one. (:o)

wow! This is great. I think I would have removed the stray leaf on the right though
Rosalyn Sears: It is kind of you to say so, Paul. I am really pleased you like it. I have to say, I didn`t notice the leaf until I got home. (:o)

“I am... a mushroom; On whom the dew of heaven drops now and then.” Simply lovely!
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, Kathryn. I am very happy that you like this one. (:o)
Lovely shot Rosalyn: I can almost smell them they're so close!
Rosalyn Sears: I sometime wish that photograhs came with `smellyvision`. There was a delicious earth aroma down there on the forest floor. Glad you like this one. (:o)
Rosalyn Sears: lol! I`m not sure - I didn`t try them. (;o)
Mushroom-tastic! All the best, Dave.
Rosalyn Sears: lol! I`m really glad you like it. (:o)

Oh I'm just perverse. I like this shot much much more than the sunny tree shots. This is great and I think iot would work well in b&W if you have time to play ;o) Into my likeys too ;o)
Rosalyn Sears: I`m so pleased you like this one. It makes an interesting change to my passion for strong, bright colours. I will try a black and white conversion and see what it looks like. (:o)

Great capture, I love it, so delicate as you see the underneath of the mushroom
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you, Astrid. I caused a great deal of amusement to other people out for a stroll, when they came across me lying on the ground on my big plastic bag. lol! (:o)

Terrific picture, love the light, shapes and textures.
Rosalyn Sears: Thanks, Aussie. They were just on the shady side of the tree stump, but happily there was just enough sunlight hitting them to add interest. (:o)
The light that surrounds this image seems to me sensational! I like!
Rosalyn Sears: Thank you so much, Jose. The light is very natural, and just as it was when I photographed them. Very lucky. (:o)
